Guitars, Nature Reserves and a new lens for my Mamiya. 6th October.

I went out with my Mamiya RZ67 today, I have a new lens for it, a lovely 50mm wide angle lens! I used to borrow a Mamiya with the 50mm lens, but I haven't been able to get to one for the past few months which has been very frustrating as I haven't been able to work on some projects including Our British Lives.

I knew I wanted to take photos with the Mamiya today, but I had no models/sitters who I could call on, so I just grabbed my old guitar and went to a local nature reserve. I've still got half a roll of film to shoot before I can get it developed, but I am quite excited to see the results (as per normal!), I have really missed shooting Medium Format!

Guitar Girl. 17th September.

I currently feel that my need to take portraits is not satisfied, so I took a little self portrait today to satisfy it for a tiny little bit of time! Tomorrow I shall try and find some time to hunt down some interesting people to photograph portraits of...

Motion of the Guitarist. 7th July.

So I'm back home for the weekend... away from the crazy hustle and bustle of London! I spent today with my boyfriend, he's a pretty great guitarist and whilst he was spending time jamming on an electric guitar I decided to capture the motions which a guitarists goes through to create sound.

The Rainbow Guitar. 13th January.

"This ol' guitar
has been my best friend
through thick and thin

It has held all my thoughts
spoken them through melody
words whispered from my heart

And at times
this ol' guitar
has even held tears at bay

Stopped my world from falling apart
it even has kept
this ol' heart from breaking in two

Yes, this ol' guitar
has served these aging hands
of mine so well

This ol' guitar
it has created music
that screamed out to be heard

This ol' guitar
has been my best friend
through thick and thin.... "

The Guitarist Elf. 6th November.

I found this little guy at my boyfriend's house, it reminded me of the fact that it's almost Christmas! And the fact that I have only bought 1 Christmas present.... eek, I shall be writing a list soon!

I have been shooting with a Canon this weekend, for those who don't know, I'm a Nikon owner.. and I love being a Nikon owner. Even though the Canon I am using is a more superior camera to my Nikon, I just do not like the feel and functionality of it, if anything it has made me want to upgrade my Nikon to a better Nikon Body!

Anyway, technical stuff aside, I am shooting a couple more architectural pieces tomorrow! I have two interior shoots and possibly another exterior shoot, hoping to get some good shots... and if I do they may be my photo of the day! I have also finished shooting my toy soldier project, so that will be on facebook/flickr (and eventually my website, which I am working on) quite soon!

The Musical Butterfly. 15th October.

On a previous day I admitted how I have always wanted to play violin, but had never got round to properly learning. Well, here's one instrument which I did get round to learning... I've been playing guitar now for a good few years and I really love playing it!
I was a little stuck today about what photograph to take, but I saw how beautiful the day was and decided that I had to do something outside! I'm glad I didn't go to London for the architecture shoot today because the conditions make it very hard to produce strong architectural work.
I am going to Lincoln tomorrow though so keep a look out for what is coming!
